Northerns donates cricket equipment to Tsakane CC

In a gesture that underlines the power of sport to uplift communities, Benoni Northerns Junior Cricket Club (BNJCC) recently donated equipment to the Tsakane Cricket Club, giving aspiring young players access to resources that could help shape their future in the game.
This initiative highlighted the club’s “continued commitment to developing junior cricket and supporting the wider cricketing community”.
The initiative focused on collecting usable cricket equipment to assist clubs and young players in need.
Through the generosity and support of BNJCC, a significant contribution of second-hand cricket equipment was made to Tsakane Cricket Club, ensuring that quality gear could be reused and placed back into the hands of aspiring cricketers,” said chairperson Sean Howard.
Howard added that this project reinforced the club’s core values of unity, generosity, and community upliftment.

“Seeing the club work together for the betterment of junior cricket served as a powerful reminder of why Benoni Northerns exists – not only to develop skilled players, but to build character and foster meaningful relationships through sport.”
The collected kits were formally handed over to Tsakane CC representative Luyanda Manqalaza, marking a meaningful moment of collaboration.
“This gesture reinforced the shared goal of promoting access to cricket resources and strengthening grassroots development within the region.
“For the Benoni Northerns representatives involved, the initiative was a proud moment that highlighted the impact of collective effort and shared purpose. It strengthened bonds within the club and reaffirmed its commitment to making cricket accessible to all young players.
“The success of the festive season drive has inspired the club to continue seeking opportunities where cricket can be used as a tool for positive change, both on and off the field,” concluded Howard.
