Children in the Mgongo informal settlement were treated to meals, prayers and encouragement when the Village of Hope team recently visited the area.
In addition to lunch and sweet treats, pastor Jimmy Moyambo from Tabernacle of God was invited to share the Word of God and pray with the children.
“We are teaching them that God is our protector and that nothing is impossible with Him,” said the NPO’s founder, Tumie Masolane.
“We strongly believe that in these informal settlements we are raising future leaders, responsible men and women.”
She added that the organisation’s back-to-school campaign is still ongoing and that donations of all kinds are welcome.
Children in Mgongo enjoyed lunch and sweet treats as Village of Hope continued its community support work.
“We are appealing to companies, organisations and individuals to join hands with us in making these little ones look presentable at school,” said Tumie.
She extended her gratitude to Moyambo and his family for opening their home to allow the team to feed the children, the Mgongo CPF for always availing themselves, Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival for consistently providing food to ensure the children receive decent meals, and Village of Hope team members Tlhokomelo Masolane and Ntsoaki Sindane.
“It is a blessing to have such a committed team to work with,” she said.
Tumie also thanked Logan Naina for his support with food from Rise Against Hunger Africa, under the organisation, Inner Voice Foundation.
