Tsakani – Tsakani residents congratulate Thapelo Ishmael (23) on his appointment as a Sesotho newsreader at a local radio station.
Born in Botshabelo in the Free State and raised in Bloemfontein, Thapelo attended Kopanong High School, where his journey began to take shape.
“In 2022, I relocated to Johannesburg to pursue new opportunities and continue building my career in media.
“This opportunity has come at the right time,” he said.
His interest in the media scene began long ago. He continues to make strides in the industry and is currently pursuing his studies in Public Relations, further strengthening his passion for communication and broadcasting.
“The local radio station that I have just joined is a dynamic and growing community radio station known for its vibrant programming.
“It offers diverse music selection, and commitment to informing, educating, and entertaining its listeners,” he added.
Ishmael is hopeful that this opportunity will open more doors for him. His words of motivation go out to young people seeking jobs, especially in the media space.
“Remain motivated and persistent in pursuing their goals.
“I urge young people to remain patient and consistent, to invest in developing their skills, and not to be discouraged by rejection or slow progress,” mentioned Ishmael.
He emphasised the importance of believing in one’s purpose, staying disciplined, and being willing to start small while working towards bigger goals.
In conclusion, Ishmael said success in the industry requires resilience, continuous learning, and the courage to step out of one’s comfort zone in pursuit of growth.
