Youth football takes centre stage: Ace Auto Ayoba launches winter development tournament

Yebo-Yes Sport Academy coach Thuso Mtsweni plans to host an exciting U13 Kasi to Kasi World Cup tournament from July 7 to July 19.
The tournament games will kick off at Phela Ndaba Ground, next to Tsakane Old Age Home. The event promises to be a celebration of youth talent and grassroots football development.
The tournament is open exclusively to Ekurhuleni Development Teams, with 16 sides competing in a round-robin format.
From there, teams will progress to the quarterfinals, with additional plate finals and main finals. This structure ensures that every team enjoys maximum game time.

“The goal is simple – to give our junior players as much time on the field as possible,” said Mtsweni.

He said tournaments like these are not just about competition, but about development, exposure, and opportunity.
“The aim is to allow children to have fun constructively while developing their soccer skills and building a strong foundation in the sport. This tournament will receive support from Score Energy Drink, Manjoh Maize Meal and the Ward 85 sports and recreation committee,” explained Mtsweni.
He mentioned that the winning teams will receive soccer kits, trophies, medals and individual awards. Mtsweni urged local teams to participate in the tournament.
“We want this tournament to be more than just a football event. It is about giving our youth purpose, a sense of belonging, and a pathway.”
For affiliation and inquiries, coaches and teams are encouraged to reach out to Mtsweni by call or WhatsApp on 078 704 0788.
