With the right support you can reach for the stars

Kwa-Thema – In today’s challenging economic climate, entrepreneurship is more than just a means of survival; it is a powerful tool for change.
“As a local business owner, I have witnessed first-hand how starting a business can transform lives, create employment opportunities and inspire the next generation.
“My journey into business and technology is a testament to the power of passion, resilience and community support,” explained Lebogang Ntlwane (25), the director of the Monarng Express, an IT solutions and cabling company.
His interest in computers and technology started at home when he played with his brother’s computer.
“I was fortunate enough to attend Strubenvale Primary School, where they introduced computers from Grades Three to Seven, giving me a strong foundation in IT.

“Unfortunately, my high school did not have a computer lab to sharpen these skills, but the introduction of e-learning during my high school years allowed me to expand my knowledge.

“I even found myself teaching educators essential laptop and computer skills, becoming the go-to person for IT-related issues in my classes,” he added.
After high school, Ntlwane pursued business management in college, where his passion for IT merged with his entrepreneurial aspirations. This led to the vision for Monareng Express, which provides IT solutions while creating job opportunities in the community.
“Registering the business was just the first step. I needed funds to operate, so I took on employment to support my dream.
“My journey took me through various IT-related positions, from working at Rosebank College’s IT department to helping at my former high school’s IT division in 2021.
“While working in different companies, I continued operating my business on the side, seeking growth opportunities. In 2024, I decided to focus entirely on my business,” he said.

In 2024, the company gave the Springs Boys High School’s first team a soccer kit to enhance the players’ performance and team spirit.

Through his business, Ntlwane has made meaningful contributions to Springs Boys High School, like a soccer kit, snacks and bottled water, and his firm was the official sponsor for the 2024 Soccer Festival.
The company has also helped the Kristo Inkosi Church and the Abasubathi Athletics Club.
“One of my greatest ambitions is to inspire and empower the youth in my community. Many young people face limited job opportunities, but by fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, we can equip them with the skills and confidence to create their own paths.
“I encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace their passions, seek knowledge and take the first step toward building their businesses.
“Let’s work together to support small businesses. Whether through funding, mentorship or creating networking opportunities, we can strengthen our local economy and create sustainable employment opportunities. By investing in local businesses, we invest in the future of our community.
“Despite the challenges, I firmly believe now is the time to take control of our economic future. Let’s build a thriving, self-sustaining economy – one business at a time,” he said.

The Monareng Express is the official sponsor for the Boycie Ntlwane Memorial Run, an annual event hosted by the Abasubathi Athletics Club.
