The 4th annual Umsizi noPende visual art project returns to the Springs Art Gallery. Artists are invited to enter the competition by submitting their best artwork.
With the theme ‘Exploration of Dreams, Aspirations and Innovation as a Catalyst for Change’, the project aims to hone the artistic skills of aspirant artists across the city by giving them a professional platform to showcase their work and in return, receive prize money to the value of up to R20 000.
Artists eligible to enter the competition must be 21 years or older to apply, must be residents of Gauteng province, and proof of residence may be requested.
A maximum of two artworks per artist may be entered, all entries must be submitted online at
Successful artists will be contacted to deliver or courier their artworks to the art gallery for a feature in the group exhibition.Submissions are open until January 31 at 16:00.
Entries must be in the following artistic contemporary expressions only:• Painting;
• Printmaking;
• Drawing;
• Mixed media collage; and
• Photography.
