Tsakani musician L-Sauce prepares to release new Tribal project “African Sounds”

Tsakani– Thembelihle Mnguni (21) goes by the name of L-sauce on stage. He became an artist when he was in Grade Four, at the age of eight.
His brother later took him to a friend’s studio after noticing his strong interest in music.
Growing up, he was inspired by the sounds around him, from taxis passing by his house blasting music to church choirs and rich church harmonies.
He was also deeply influenced by his late uncle, DJ Monde.
It was during this time that he began teaching himself how to write his own lyrics and understand how music can be used to communicate with people.
What motivated his journey was the ability to connect with listeners not only through lyrics, but also through beats, harmonies and rhythm.

Through music, he found a powerful way to express emotions and communicate with people on a deeper level.
“I started making music in primary school. My late grandmother used to take me to church with her so I would actually listen to different hymns and melodies,” he said.
He looks up to Daliwonga, Aymos and Focalistic. and has worked with Royal MusiQ, Justin99, Mbuxxx Rekere, Mellow and Sleazy, and Chley Nkosi.
“Nkosi is actually one of the people who inspires me greatly. I am currently working on a Tribal project alongside Black Phantom.
“The name of the project is African Sounds and the song is actually about me pleading with my ancestors to protect and guide me.

“My project is to drop in April,” he added.
The rollout of his new Tribal Project with Black Phantom will hopefully be the foundation in his music industry.
His goal is to expand his fan base worldwide and give back to the community through initiatives such as building more facilities to empower youth and keep them motivated.
“An interesting fact about my music is that I make music that caters for every mood.
“What motivates my lyrics is that I write my song based on my emotions, as there could be someone who could be going through the same thing that I might be going through at that specific time,” he added.
He mentioned that his music has contributed to his better understanding of himself and his audience.
