Duduza – A case of attempted car hijacking and a case of attempted murder is under investigation after a metro police officer was preyed upon by criminals in Duduza on January 10.
According to Gauteng senior communications officer Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the officer was travelling in his private vehicle in Duduza at about 21:10 when he was blocked by the occupants of a white Hyundai.
“It is alleged the occupants started firing shots at the officer and the officer shot back. One suspect was fatally shot while another was shot and injured. Three other suspects ran away,” he added.
