Kwa-Thema – The U13 game between Selcourt Estate FC and Bolton Villa on Saturday began at a fast pace, with no player giving any space for the other team to attack.
Team coaches remained hopeful that their teams would win. The game ended 2-2, to the excitement of both teams.
Selcourt Estate coach Bokang Marapeng described the game as intense, saying in the first half they dominated but only managed to score one goal.
“We scored our second goal in the second half and our only mistake is that we then relaxed. It offered the other team an opportunity to equalise,” he said.
He wants his players to communicate better to understand one another during the game.
Lucky Mathebula, who is the Bolton Villa FC coach, said the game kept him on his feet because his team did not listen to him in the beginning.
“In the second half, they listened and as a result, we equalised. The only thing that my team needs to learn is to listen. I am their coach for a reason,” he said.
He is, however, happy that they did not lose.
