SAPS make arrest after mom, child killed

Tsakani – As the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women And Child campaign drew to a close, Tsakane SAPS found the bodies of a woman and her one-year-old child in Ext 22, on Sunday.
Officers responded and went to the scene after receiving a report of murder at about 21:00. Upon arrival, they found the bodies and interviewed a man said to be the victim’s husband.
The information led them to Germiston, where Germiston SAPS members backed them up. They went to Dukathole and arrested one person and proceeded to Tedstone, where they arrested a second.
Both are former co-workers of the victim’s husband and were detained at the Tsakane Police Station.
Station commander Colonel Khumbulani Mbatha thanked the members for their dedication and the long hours they worked to follow up on information and make arrests.
