Proud moment for Kwa-Thema Cricket Club as young players go provincial



The Kwa-Thema Cricket Club is celebrating after several of its standout players were chosen to represent the Eastern Storm in provincial age-group teams.
A capping ceremony on November 25 recognised the young players for their talent, hard work and determination.
This success is a proud moment for the club, which remains dedicated to youth development and community progress.
According to Thami Mathibe, the club secretary, the selected players will soon travel across the province to participate in national tournaments in their age groups. Their selection places them among the most promising young cricketers in the region.
The players:• Mbulelo Mkhawuke (U11);• Siphesihle Nkwanyane (U12);• Kuhle Rakwena (U13);• Simangaliso Masina (U15);• Sandile Msibi (U15);• Katlego Kobe (U15);• Mpilo Mabe (U15);• Sithembiso Masilela (U15);• Nkanyiso Mahlangu (U17);• Mpho Tipe (U19);• Sepati Moagi (U16);• Siphokuhle Masilela (U19);• Mpumi Mashiloane (U19).
Some of the club’s coaches were also called up, including Lehlohonolo Mohapi for U11, Thapelo Ditle for U13 and Zweli Khumalo for U15.
The club’s core mission is to nurture young talent and provide opportunities that steer children away from negative influences. It aims to build confidence, discipline and community pride.
The leadership congratulated the coaches, who have also earned the opportunity to participate in the upcoming tournaments.
The club is excited for what lies ahead, noting that “the growth of one child can make a massive difference in the community”.
