A recent enquiry to the City of Ekurhuleni about pothole complaints across the city that have gone mostly ignored received a positive and encouraging response.
“The city is aware of the challenge of these potholes, and we will be attending to it,” said city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“However, limited budgets normally hinder our progress in dealing with some of the issues reported by communities. Be that as it may, the community will be happy to know that an additional R40m has been allocated to the roads department to deal with road patching and potholes between now and the end of June.
“This budget will be spread across Ekurhuleni,” he said.
To report potholes for this renewed drive to improve service delivery, follow prompts on the MyCoE App, or call the call centre on 0860 543 000.
Additionally, the city’s WhatsApp number can be used to make reports by sending a message or following the provided menu options on 060 667 7177.
