Kwa-Thema – Natasha Reagile Masike, director of Reagile Community Development NPO, is making a powerful impact in Kwa-Thema by ensuring that vulnerable community members have access to food.
The organisation, which was established in November last year, operates with a simple but meaningful mission, which is to care for every individual in need.
“It is my purpose in life to take care of every individual. My slogan is ‘giving is my joy’,” said Masike.
Driven by the belief that every human being has the right to eat, the organisation supports a wide range of beneficiaries, including the elderly, children, people living with disabilities, those affected by HIV and Aids, individuals battling substance abuse, and people living on the streets.
Masike’s journey of giving starts at Springs Mall, where she collects food supplies. From there, she returns to her base in Interland Section, Kwa-Thema, where people are often already waiting for assistance.

“I know when I get home, there are people waiting. That is when the real work begins,” she explained.
Reagile Community Development hosts food distribution initiatives three times a week, providing bread, rolls, garlic bread and other essentials to those in need.
They are calling upon individuals in need to come and collect food.
The initiative is supported by Pick n Pay, which partners with the organisation to contribute towards community upliftment.
“Pick n Pay also wants to be part of helping the community, so we help each other. We need each other to contribute to our community,” said Masike.

Through consistency and compassion, the organisation has become a vital support system for many families in the area.
Looking ahead, Masike has ambitious plans to grow Reagile Community Development into one of the leading community organisations that actively respond to social needs and advocate for the voiceless.
“We want to be one of the largest community development organisations that truly sees social needs and becomes the voice of the people,” she said.
Her work continues to inspire hope, proving that even small acts of kindness can make a lastingdifference in the lives of others.
