MKP Far East Branch lends a hand at Masimini Primary School

The MKP Far East Branch rolled up its sleeves during a clean-up initiative at Masimini Primary School, addressing overgrown grounds and supporting the school community.

Kwa-Thema – The MKP Far East Branch recently rolled up its sleeves to host a clean-up campaign at Masimini Primary School, demonstrating its commitment to community development and education.Explaining the motivation behind the initiative, MKP member Evelyn Mohapi said the school had previously opened its doors to the organisation when it needed a venue for meetings.“We are here to help the school because they supported us by allowing us to use their premises,” said Mohapi.“We are also doing this for our children, so they can have a safe and clean environment in which to learn. It is our responsibility as a community to contribute.”

Mohapi added that the party plans to conduct oversight visits at the school and other institutions to better understand their challenges.“We need to identify their needs so that we can raise them in Parliament and ensure proper interventions are made,” she said.Masimini Primary School principal Mbuso Ndlela welcomed the assistance, noting that the school had been struggling with limited resources.“The grass had grown very long, and some of our equipment was stolen in 2024 and never replaced,” said Ndlela. “We are very grateful that MKP chose to assist us in this regard.”The clean-up initiative was well-received and highlighted the importance of collaboration between community organisations and local schools.
