Langaville youth shine at sports day

Langaville – Shine On Us, in partnership with the Langaville Men’s Forum, hosted the Langaville Youth Development Day on June 16.
“The whole point of the event was to create a platform for the youth to showcase their talent. We’re encouraging them to use the facilities available to them,” said organiser Kamogelo Shabalala.
He said they would share all donations received among the participating teams rather than awarding a winner. “This way, everyone benefits.”
On the soccer field, the youth played four matches:• Amadamara beat Shine On Us 2-1;
• 7 Stars drew 2-2 against Shine On Us and won 5-3 on penalties;
• The final match between Amadamara and 7 Stars 2 ended 2-2, with Amadamara winning 5-3 on penalties.

• The Wings lost 18-28 to Sunshine but rebounded to defeat Shine On Us 18-9;
• Tornado Academy lost 12-16 to New Paradise.
“We issued certificates of recognition and appreciation to some community members, partners and sponsors who contributed to the success of the tournament and gala dinner. The scores reflect the level of talent and the community spirit these events bring to Langaville,” said Shabalala.
