Kwa-Thema Stakeholders Forum encourages residents to seek assistance and support local employment initiatives

Kwa-Thema Stakeholders Forum (KTSF) encourages residents to reach out for assistance.
“We are an umbrella body because many departments exist in it. We aim to empower, develop and sustain,” explained Nonia Ngobeni.
The forum often hosts programmes for the benefit of the people of Kwa-Thema. Recently, they marched to businesses to demand increased employment and contribution from the company.
Ngobeni said unemployment has been rife in the community, especially among the youth.
“We hosted an AGM and invited the companies in January. We expressed our expectations and how they could help our people,” added Ngubeni.
She admitted some invited companies did not attend the meeting.

“Every company has a responsibility to invest in their surrounding communities. It is important for us to remind them of these responsibilities, and partner with them,” she said.
She said some companies have been receptive to their grievances.
“We will not stop until all the companies receive our proposals and respond to them,” she added.
The forum also has an infrastructure department led by Sifiso Makudu.
“We mostly help people who have applied for RDPs but have not received them. There are cases where recent applicants will receive houses before people who applied 10 years ago and more,” he explained.
Makudu encouraged applicants to come to them for help.

“There are ways where we can check the status of the application, and determine how to move forward,” he added.
