Kwa-Thema Cricket Club star Siphokuhle Masilela selected for SA U19 women’s team to compete in Nigeria



Kwa-Thema – Siphokuhle Masilela (16) from the Kwa-Thema Cricket Club (KTCC) has been selected to represent South Africa U19 Women at the Nigeria Cricket Federation Women’s T20 invitational in Nigeria from the March 19 to 29.
Masilela has made Kwa-Thema Cricket Club her home. She started playing cricket at the age of eight and has since fallen in love with the game.
“Masilela has displayed remarkable talent from a very young age, captivating many with her agile body movements on the field of play.
“Her exceptional skills with the bat have often seemed out of this world. Now, she is stepping confidently onto the international stage, ready to make her mark with a bang,” said the club’s secretary, Thami Mathibe.

Mathibe explained that their end goal is to see Masilela play for the Proteas Women’s Team. The Kwa-Thema Cricket Club and the broader community are firmly behind Masilela, supporting and encouraging her to achieve beyond what she has ever imagined.
Their unwavering belief in her talent and determination serves as a powerful motivation as she continues to rise and make her mark on bigger stages.
“I just want to congratulate her and remind her that she is an inspiration to many. A big thank you to her mother, Queen Masilela, for her unconditional support towards her daughter’s dreams.
“A big thank you to the coaches, Mandla Nkosi, Thapelo Ditle, Zwelibanzi Khumalo and Lehlohonolo Mohapi for deploying themselves to building our community through cricket,” added Mathibe.
