Kwa-Thema amapiano star releases debut album

Kwa-Thema – Amapiano prodigy Kgothatso ‘KultureSoul’ Mokgoroane (20) is setting new benchmarks in South Africa’s vibrant music scene.
He recently released an album titled Homemade, a 10-track project featuring his kereke, Pro-Tag, Hhope Africa, Snowii SYG, and a few upcoming artists.
“The aim of the album was to ignite and evoke deep emotions, with the first track setting a cinematic tone for the project.
“The last two tracks are for dancing as both songs give a different energetic style.

“I love how I enjoyed making this masterpiece; the moments in the studio were incredible. Ideas came to life, meeting new friends along the journey and learning new things too was an experience,” said Kgothatso.

The album is available on streaming platforms. He mentioned that when he was making this project, he did not have anything specific in mind.
Kgothatso explained that he wanted to challenge himself and explore the full extent of his musical ability. He said he felt a natural gift for making music and wanted to test how far that talent could take him.
“I also wanted to explore what I could create with the music taste I have developed over the years and find a way to connect it with modern sounds.
“From a very young age, I listened to 90s soul, R’n’B and fusion music.
“Being constantly exposed to those genres shaped my ear and inspired me to start analysing the structure, emotion and detail in each song,” he explained.

“Music interpolations also played a significant role in my growth, as they helped me better understand arrangement, composition and the art of music production.”

He attests that he has made tremendous growth over time in his career.
“I have started collaborating with more artists who helped me find my niche. I now know things he did not know before.”
Kgothatso is gearing up to release a sophomore album, with more artists from other townships.
This year, he wants to grow in the music field, collaborating with bigger artists, developing his own craft, and making music for the world to enjoy.
“I love music that brings people together, and that is the music I am passionate about,” he concluded.
