Geluksdal’s Abuti Frans pursues music full time to inspire future generations



Geluksdal – Known professionally as Abuti Frans, Khutlang Mohlakola has been captivating audiences with his music since he first started creating in 2018.
“I left my job as a computer literacy teacher to follow music. I explore Afro soul, pop and jazz, touching on love and human experiences as my themes.
“Growing up, I have always loved groups such as Mafikizolo and artists such as Ntando,” he said.
Mohlakola believes he was destined to become an artist. He started making music at the age of 14 with friends and was part of the school choir.
Mohlakola aspires to work with Berita on an Afro-pop collaborative album.

“I have a single titled Ngiyamemeza on all digital platforms. Some of the music that I am working on will be released later this year. I am also working on hosting some music sessions,” he said.
“My ultimate goal is to create something that will outlive me. Something that will benefit generations to come.”
A fun fact about him is that he is a self-taught guitarist whose aim is to inspire others while he has the chance.
Over the years, his talent has grown as an artist. He has hosted numerous music sessions, performed at pubs and churches to better spread his sound.
Mohlakola’s music has helped him travel around Gauteng to explore different music sessions.
