The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) is commemorating February as Reproductive Health Month inder the theme of ‘Empowering Communities Through Accessible Reproductive Health Services’.
The annual campaign highlights the importance of ensuring access to quality reproductive health information and services across communities.
The CoE said it remains committed to promoting well-being, preventing illness, and empowering residents to make informed decisions about their health.
As part of this year’s programme, a range of reproductive health services is being offered at municipal clinics and health facilities.
Services include:• Family planning and contraceptive services to support informed choices;• Antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and infants;• Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs);• HIV testing, counselling and treatment support;• Cervical and prostate cancer screening;• Youth-friendly services providing safe access to information and care; and• Condom distribution and education.
The city has encouraged residents to visit their nearest health facility to access these services, which are provided free of charge.
