Tsakani – EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested a 35-year-old man for possession and possible dealing in illicit substances on July 8.
According to city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the arrest followed a tip-off from concerned community members who reported that there was a suspected drug peddler at a residence on Mzimayi Street.
“Upon arrival at the premises, officers apprehended the suspect, who was found with 17 brown Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R850,” said Dlamini, adding that officers seized the substances and booked them for evidence.
“The suspect faces charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances and is expected to soon appear in the Tsakani Magistrate’s Court,” Dlamini added.
