Primary schools across Ekurhuleni are invited to take part in a high-profile drawing competition aimed at promoting energy-saving and renewable energy awareness among young learners.
The City of Ekurhuleni has launched the initiative to encourage primary school learners to express their understanding of energy efficiency through creativity and art.
Learners are expected to communicate powerful energy-saving messages using freehand drawings that reflect their own ideas and imagination.
In keeping with the spirit of originality, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is strongly discouraged. The competition emphasises individual creativity, ensuring that the artwork accurately reflects the learner’s personal interpretation of energy efficiency and renewable energy concepts.
Teachers and parents are also not permitted to take part in the content creation process.
The competition offers prizes totalling R20 000, making it a significant opportunity for participating schools and learners. Applications for the competition will open on February 1 and close on March 6.
Submission requirements include:• Artwork submitted on an A1 poster• Name and physical address of the school (schools must be based in Ekurhuleni)• Full name of the appointed school representative
