Ekurhuleni – EMPD Specialised Services Units officers recently apprehended 47 undocumented foreign nationals, aged between 24 and 72, from various African countries across the City of Ekurhuleni.
“The arrest was made during law enforcement operations at identified hotspot areas, aimed at curbing the growing number of undocumented individuals within the city.
“All suspects were unable to produce valid passports or identification and were immediately detained,” explained CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
He explained that the immigration services were notified to conduct further verification of their status. All suspects face charges under the Immigration Act and are expected to appear in the respective magistrates’ courts soon.
