Duduza – In a powerful display of unity and community love, the SAPS, Youth Crime Prevention Desk (YCPD), Women Against Social Problems (WASP), Community Safety Brigades and Community in Blue came together outside Duduza SAPS to mark Valentine’s Day on February 14 with a purpose.
Dressed in red and white, the partners transformed the space under a gazebo into a welcoming setting, with a beautifully arranged table prepared by WASP members, symbolising love, care and collective responsibility within the community.
“This Valentine’s Day, while love is often shown through gifts and romance, as the Duduza SAPS stakeholders, we chose to honour those who have been hurt in the name of love (GBVF).

“We celebrated the silent warriors, the ones who still show up smiling, who keep pouring into others even when their own cups are empty,” said Duduza SAPS Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator and communications officer, Constable Nobuhle Mnisi.
“We know how lonely Valentine’s Day may feel for those who suffer in silence. We simply wanted them to know that we see them, we appreciate them, and we celebrate them on Valentine’s Day.”
Community members and SAPS members on duty were given big hugs and little treats, with a message of affirmation attached to brighten their day.
