Duduza – A local men’s organisation donated 20 pairs of school shoes to learners at Sibinisiwe Primary School on Wednesday, stepping in to support families in need.
Established in 2016, Amadoda Wempilo was founded with the aim of giving back to the community through various outreach initiatives.
Chairperson Wiseman Malinga said the group had previously focused on donating food parcels but identified a growing need for school shoes among learners.
“We want to promote equality and a sense of belonging for the learners,” said Malinga.
“We understand how lacking such a basic part of the school uniform can cause a child to stand out and feel left out.”
He added that part of the funds used to purchase the shoes came from proceeds generated from an event the organisation hosted last year. The initiative forms part of the group’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the community and restoring dignity to young learners.
