Geluksdal- A car overturned along Windhoek Street in Gelukdal on April 5 at about 22:30. GCAR Security was informed of the incident by one of its clients in the area. The car also damaged the fence of a home.
“Upon arrival at the scene, our team provided assistance where possible. SAPS also arrived shortly after to assess the situation. A young male driver lost control of his vehicle, and collided with the edge of the road.
“The driver was removed from the vehicle and taken for medical attention, but the exact details of his condition are unknown.
“There is no mention of passengers in the report,” said the company’s marketing manager, Liyanda Ntimbane. Ntimbane added that speed humps are an urgent need on this specific road as they may prevent future accidents.
The car was found on its roof.
“We do encounter similar issues on the road. This highlights the need for better traffic control measures, such as speed humps, to improve safety and prevent future accidents.
“The municipality could install speed humps, improve road signage, and raise awareness about road safety to help prevent similar accidents.
“Additionally, they could assist our company by providing access to an unused government building, allowing us to enhance our 24-hour standby services to the Geluksdal community,” he said.
