Blue Birds defeat Tjovitjo 3–1 in thrilling U17 match at Tsakani

TSAKANI – Blue Birds recently went head-to-head with Tjovitjo in a U17 clash at the Ext 5 Rejabathu Ground near the Fire Station. The fast pace of the game kept spectators on the edge of their seats as the ground became a war zone.
Tjovitjo tried their level best to catch up to the Blue Birds, but minor mistakes held them back.
“My team was very competitive, but our opponents used our mistakes against us to score more goals. I would say we were too relaxed in the beginning, which led to our opponents securing more goals and as a result we could not equalise,” said the Tjovitjo coach.
He said that he is pleased with the effort displayed by his players, adding that they played well. The game ended with a score of 3-1. Blue Birds coach, Man Hlatshwayo, described the game as beautiful and refreshing.
“My team was determined to win the game. We attacked a lot and as a result our opponents could not keep up. We concluded the first half with two points and we still wanted three more points,” he explained.
“I always tell my players to fight hard in the first half as I have noticed that many teams take the first half for granted.”
In the second half, the coach substituted three players who brought in a lot of energy and scored their third goal.
“I am happy that my boys listened to my guidance and followed all my strategies. I am beyond thrilled that we won the game. Winning always boosts my players’ confidence,” he concluded.
