Duduza – Duduza’s superstar, Innocent Mahlophe (22), known as FiiEND, is a rapper who started making music professionally in 2017.
He released his first EP titled 16-year-old plug in 2018 on SoundCloud, from verses he wrote in class in high school, saying he never looked back after his first release.
”My introduction to music started at eight years after being exposed to artists such as Eminem, 50 Cent, and Tupac. I used to rap their verses in the mirror and that is how I realised my talent and ability to rap.
“I recorded my first song titled Devastated at 15 when I was visiting my cousin, Sabelo Matshele, who is currently my producer. My cousin motivated me; I looked up to him,” he said.
Mahlophe has so far released ten projects, with his latest being Toxic Forever Mixtape. He said he had a hand in all his projects to mix and mastering them, especially his latest mixtape titled Innocent’s Diary.
Innocent Mahlophe aims to make timeless music.
“I released my new single titled Jean-Claude Van Damme on September 13. In the song, I express the comparison of my life to a movie called Kungani The Drama.
“I am currently gearing up to release my upcoming mixtape titled Kea’s Father. This delves deeper into family issues, regrets, pain, and the turmoil of how my relationship with my father shaped me into the individual and father that I am to my daughter,” he elaborated.
Mahlophe said he planned to open a record label and visual production company to support his music and other upcoming artists, saying he wanted to enlighten artists on the business aspect of music.
“My goal is to spread a positive and lucrative message. I have directed 30 music videos and most of my projects were released after all my breakups.
“I want to change lives through music, challenge the way people think – introduce new thoughts and perspectives, inspire hope, motivate the purposeless, speak to and for the people and ultimately create music they will relate to even when they are old,” he added.
