Apededeejay aims to inspire, uplift listeners



Tsakani – Thabang Themba (20) started his music career as a DJ in 2020 and his friend, Sbusiso ‘Blxckdonny’ Ncube, taught him how to compose and produce. Themba is now an amapiano and hip-hop artist and producer popularly known as ‘Apededeejay’.
“My love for music grew fonder in 2021 after I released my first mixtape titled Amapiano Sessions Volume 1. Itreceived a lot of love and positive comments, which motivated me and made me work hard,” explained Themba.
He said his love for music started at home, “I come from a family that loves music.”
He released a 13-track album titled Greatness last October.
“I also recently dropped a single titled Nkabi Welele featuring Y3sta and DJ SwG. I am also working on a joint album with them and will drop it in April.
“I aim to drop a solo album, Greatness 2, in October. I am dropping it in because that is when I dropped my first album last year,” he added.

Themba wants to release more music, secure more gigs and gain recognition from well-known artists.
”My music is deeply personal and driven by a desire to process, reflect and connect with others. I draw inspiration from my experiences, emotions and observations, hoping to create authentic and relatable songs.
“As an artist, I aspire to inspire, heal and uplift my listeners. I want to use my platform to share a message of hope, resilience and self-empowerment. By sharing my story, I aim to help others feel less alone,” added Themba.
He said his musical journey had been a transformative experience that profoundly impacted his life and growth.
“Through the creative process, I have developed a deeper understanding of myself, my emotions, and my values.
“Making music has become a therapeutic outlet, allowing me to process and release emotions, gain clarity and heal from past experiences.
“I have navigated the highs and lows of this journey and cultivated resilience, perseverance and self-discipline, essential qualities that have benefited many areas of my life.

“Moreover, connecting with like-minded individuals and fans has expanded my perspective, fostered empathy, and created a sense of community and belonging,” he concluded.
