DJ Leo Brown rises with beats and purpose

Lethabo Maubane is not only a dedicated social worker but also an emerging DJ known to fans as DJ Leo Brown.
She has loved music from a young age, which led her to the Sibikwa Arts School, where her artistic abilities and love for music began to grow.
“I play hip-hop, R’n’B, and soul music. Being at an art school fuelled my love for music and encouraged me to venture into the entertainment industry,” said Lethabo.
“My passion really started at Sibikwa, where I was doing performing arts.”
Her DJing career took off in 2023. Since then, she has drawn inspiration from respected artists like DJ Akio from Strictly Soul (an events company hosting activations that celebrate R’n’B and soul music) and Ayanda MVP, a YFM radio host.
“I’ll be dropping music later this year. I’m looking to collaborate and release my first single soon. So far, I’ve hosted three events at the OR Tambo Birchwood Hotel under the name Sunset Horizon Experience,” she said.
With a growing fan base and a clear creative vision, Lethabo aims to become one of SA’s top hip-hop, R’n’B, and soul DJs.
