From the start, both sides showed commitment and character, defending with intensity. Metro Stars goalkeeper Lethukuthula Thabethe described the first half as scrappy.
“Fifteen minutes into the game, we had already studied their strategy. We gained momentum and made it difficult for them to get through us,” said Thabethe.
He admitted that the team made several mistakes in the first half, especially with build-up play and relying too much on high-pressure marking.

“We did better in the second half and tried to correct our errors,” he added.
Thabethe noted that the second half saw an improved performance, allowing Metro Stars to score two goals. However, he stressed the importance of staying focused for the full 90 minutes.
“In many of our games, we lose focus in the final hour. That’s when we often get punished,” he said.
Despite the loss, Thabethe said he was proud of his team’s progress this season.
“This being our last game in the league is a milestone. We worked hard to get here and displayed great dedication. Everyone is willing to improve.”
Auto Ace Ayoba came away with a 4–2 victory. Coach Lucky Sithole acknowledged the difficulties of the first half.

“It was hard to score in the first half. We only displayed our tactics late in the game but managed two goals before the break,” he said.
In the second half, Sithole said the team relaxed too much and did not make full use of their chances, though they managed to add two more goals.
One of Ayoba’s players received a red card for using foul language towards the referee.
“I will address this during practice and again before each game. I was disappointed. Football is emotional, but players must still follow the rules and conduct themselves properly,” said Sithole.
Looking ahead, Auto Ace Ayoba will face Jealous Down at the Kwa-Thema Stadium on July 5 in their final Super League fixture.
“In preparation for Saturday’s match, we will focus on increasing technical awareness and instilling discipline. The players must respect every match as we head towards the playoffs,” he said.
Auto Ace Ayoba have topped the league for months and remain unbeaten, having won all 15 of their matches.
“We have a 100% record with no draws or losses. We keep each other motivated, both in person and on our WhatsApp groups,” said Sithole.
“We want to finish the league phase strongly as we prepare for the next challenge. It won’t be easy, but we are ready.”
Sithole predicted a 3–1 win over Jealous Down.Other results:Auto Ace Ayoba 2–0 Dunnottar M WarriorsAuto Ace Ayoba 2–1 One Love
