Tsakani – As hijacking incidents continue to rise across Kwatsaduza, CPF chairperson Mncedisi Somyo is urging residents to prioritise vehicle safety and remain vigilant on the roads. He shared several practical tips to help the community protect themselves and their vehicles.
“Stay alert when arriving at your residential gate or driveway. Avoid sitting or waiting in your car, as this draws attention from criminals.
In the event of a hijacking, try to remain calm, keep your hands visible, follow instructions, and avoid eye contact. However, try to remember as many details as possible about the suspect or suspects,” said Somyo.
Safety tips for motoristsBefore driving:• Check your surroundings before getting into your car, especially at night or in quiet areas.• Avoid parking next to large vans, bushes, or anything that blocks visibility.• Have your keys ready – avoid fumbling at the door.
