Duduza – Two men were arrested on May 14 by members of the EMPD’s Community Liaison Unit for possession and dealing in an illicit substance.
Officers received information from concerned members of the community about the pair selling drugs.
Acting on the tip-off, the officers proceeded to an address on Kuvuki Street in Ext 1, where they found a 27-year-old man in possession of rock cocaine.
The drugs were individually wrapped and 22 small packages were seized, with an estimated street value of R1 100. Meanwhile, on Mkay Street in Ext 3, officers apprehended a 23-year-old man, also in possession of rock cocaine.
Officers confiscated 18 small packages containing the substance, with an estimated street value of R600, and R40 in cash.
The two were arrested and taken to Duduza SAPS. The confiscated drugs and cash were booked in at the same police station.
The men face charges of possession and dealing in an illicit substance, and are expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court.
