Tsakani – Kingdom Power Church International, under the youth leader Zandile Nkosi, came up with the idea of hosting the Matric Application Assistance Day.
The application day was hosted on April 18 at the church.
“The inspiration behind the initiative came from seeing matric learners who are eager to further their studies but struggle with the application process due to a lack of guidance in choosing suitable careers and navigating online application systems.
“Many learners face challenges such as limited access to essential resources, including gadgets and reliable Wi-Fi, which further hinders their ability to apply to universities and colleges,” explained Nkosi.
Nkosi mentioned that this particular initiative is very important to the community because it builds the future.

She cited that the main purpose of the matric application assistance day is to assist the students with university and college applications, course selection guidance, online application support and career direction.
“This event provided direction, relevant information, support, guidance, encouragement and empowered the youth with opportunities.
“It helped learners gain access to higher education, bursaries, and career opportunities that they may not have known about and may have struggled to apply for on their own,” she said.
Kingdom Power Church International’s key mission is to help the community with its current issues.
“Matriculants face several challenges when preparing for tertiary studies. Many are uncertain about which courses to pursue, and some have not taken the time to research their desired careers.

“Others feel pressured to apply for any available course because they do not meet the required APS scores for their preferred programmes,” she mentioned.
To address these challenges, Nkosi explained that they encourage learners to focus on improving the subjects in which they performed poorly and to make informed decisions by researching career options that align with their strengths and interests.
The church invites former students to assist with the application process and also invites graduates to motivate learners.
“To the matriculants who are unsure about their future, come through on our second event for inspiration, motivation, guidance and support.
“The community can assist with resources such as data,” Nkosi concluded.
