
NIGEL – Cambridge Football Club delivered a commanding performance on the road, securing a 2–0 away victory against Vrrphaa FC on February 27.
Cambridge FC travelled to Vosloorus for the night fixture, which formed part of the regional Hollywood Bets match schedule.
From the opening whistle, Cambridge set the tone, starting the match with high intensity, sharp movement and relentless energy that kept Vrrphaa FC under sustained pressure.

Cambridge made some changes, bringing on fresh legs on the wings, and it paid off as winger Mpumelelo Klipa Mazibuko dribbled past two players and scored at the near post to make the score line 2-0 with 15 minutes to play.
Cambridge had the backing of their supporters, who travelled all the way to Vosloorus to support the boys and gave them that extra kick to push for all three points away from home.
The home team tried everything to reduce the deficit, but Cambridge’s disciplined defence dealt with each attack.The match ended 2-0 in Nigel’s favour.
Assistant coach Daniel Tshidi said, “The boys came to fight after a disappointing 2-1 defeat in Kwa-Thema last week. We needed to respond and bounce back to winning ways. Now it’s on to the next as we start the second round of the season”.
“Despite our financial challenges, we keep going and wait for one door to open with sponsorship, as travelling is a huge challenge to get the boys to games, but we want to thank our supporters who came out in numbers to rally behind the boys. This one was for them,” said chairperson Ignatius Maphike.
