Two criminals jailed after thorough SAPS investigations

District detectives continue to prove that no one is above the law, and stand as evidence that the hand of the law stretches longer than the mind of criminality.
Captain Martha Beeslaar, commander of the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) based at Brakpan SAPS has applauded her team member Detective Constable Julia Mohlamonyane for her dedicated contribution and for working diligently to ensure justice for a young victim of rape.
Mohlamonyane persevered on a rape case opened in Dawn Park in 2024 whereby a 10-year-old girl was lured into her mother’s bedroom and raped by her uncle.
The detective secured watertight evidence and presented it to the NPA. The 33-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on February 2.

In another case, Detective Sergeant Mduduzi Manzini of the Infrastructure Unit, left no stone unturned in investigating and submitting evidence before the court for a Brakpan case of tampering with infrastructure that was opened in 2023, and the suspect was never granted bail.
The 36-year-old man recently appeared in the Brakpan Regional Court where he was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment for tampering with infrastructure, eight years for theft, and three years for perjury.
He was charged with perjury after opening a false hijacking case at the Dawn Park Police Station.
Brakpan SAPS station commander Brigadier Johanna Ngoma applauded the outstanding investigative work of the detectives. She further encouraged teamwork to ensure excellence within the service.
