Pro-Tag carves his own lane in the music industry



Kwa-Thema- Sibusiso Mayisa, known to his fans as Pro-Tag, is a versatile artist.Sibusiso mentioned that music has always been part of his DNA.“Raised in a musical household, with a mother who is a gospel and jazz vocalist, I was introduced to sound, rhythm, and performance at an early age. At the age of 16, I had already started to carve my own artistic identity,” he said.Sibusiso officially started making music while in Grade Nine.His sound knows no boundaries, as he effortlessly moves between TrapSoul, R&B, Deep House, Amapiano, and jazz.This genre-fluid approach reflects his belief that music should never be limited, but rather used as a platform for expression in all its forms.“The inspiration behind my stage name, Pro-Tag, comes from the word protagonist – the main character.“I describe myself as an artist with one voice but many characters within it, allowing me to present my sound in different ways while remaining authentic to who I am,” he said.His early motivation was strengthened by his former team members, a group known as Tha_Hullabaloos, where collaboration and creativity shaped his foundation as an artist.Influenced by South African heavyweights such as Nasty C and Young Stunna, Sibusiso has steadily built his profile in the industry.

He has worked with artists, including TCTEe Musiq, Jandas, Eeque, ForeverLivingChris, and Savage Sossa, and has his sights set on future collaborations with Emtee, Marcus Harvey, A-Reece, Blxckie, Blue Pappi, and international star Chris Brown.“Beyond performing, I have also made my mark behind the scenes. I have produced an album for Kulturesouland Hhope Africa, and I am also part of a major upcoming project under the AMBY-YANO Music Group, which is set to drop a new album soon,” he cited.Sibusiso is working on a single titled Take It Down.He mentioned that the song is inspired by a girl he met on the streets, who later became someone deeply important in his life.The single is scheduled for release on April 7.“Fans can also look forward to a Valentine’s exploration project from the AMBY-YANO Music Group,” he added.“My long-term vision is to make a meaningful impact in the music industry, not only through my own success but by building a stable and nurturing collective of artists under mywing.“My journey has already been recognised, having received a nomination at the Springs Hip Hop Awards.”Sibusiso is well-known for his strong stage presence and energetic performances, and believes that performance is just as important as sound.“With growing support and positive messages from my fans, I find inspiration in my journey,” he mentioned.Sibusiso’s story is one of passion, growth, and vision – a protagonist determined not only to succeed, but to inspire and make a lasting difference in the music business.
