Foundation continues to make difference in community



Tsakani – The Nkosinathi Mbonani Foundation recently held its second annual Christmas With Strangers in Tsakani Ext 6, feeding over 500 people on the day.The initiative received sponsorship from Mbonani Christian Funerals.The foundation alleviates poverty in disadvantaged communities while making a significant difference.Founder Nkosinathi Mbonani believes in the spirit of giving and formed his initiatives to be a symbol of love, selflessness and compassion.The foundation partnered with various organisations, individuals and businesses in 2025 to fight poverty in Kwatsaduza communities.Their efforts reached a range of beneficiaries, from supporting matric learners during the exam preparation camp with soup and bread, to backing church events, youth empowerment initiatives and mental health awareness programmes.

The foundation also organised its annual charity netball and football games, creating platforms to nurture sporting talent in the township while uniting the community.Through these activities, the foundation showed its commitment to alleviating hardship and fostering growth, empowerment and opportunities for locals.They have provided pads to schools, funded small feeding programmes, and offered a helping hand when needed.“Christmas With Strangers allows us to help those in need with preloved clothes, warm meals, pads, toys and laughter.“With many people unemployed and unable to enjoy the joy of new clothes or a proper Christmas feast, there is no better way to celebrate the festive season than by giving to those in need,” explained Mbonani.Mbonani’s community work also earned him an award at the second annual Heroes of Tsakane gala dinner and a nomination in the Forty Under 40 SA Awards.Mbonani is determined to make 2026 a year of action and impact.“This year, I am dedicated to working even harder, touching as many lives as I can and helping wherever possible within the community,” he said.His commitment to charity work and sponsorship is clear, driven by the belief that every small effort makes a meaningful difference.
