Stay safe this festive season: Tsakani CPF shares crucial safety tips

Tsakani As we approach the festive season, local CPF chairperson Mncedisi Somyo advises the community to stay vigilant.
“We know the festive season is a time for joy, family, and celebration but it is also a time when crime tends to increase. We all need to stay alert and keep our community safe,” explained Somyo.
Somyo urged community members to always lock doors and windows, even when they are at home. He mentioned that many people leave their valuables such as phones, wallets, or keys near open windows or in the car which attracts criminals.
“Ensure outside lights and alarm systems are in working order. If you are going away, inform a trusted neighbour or CPF representative so they can keep an eye on your property. Community safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he added.
