The Springs Boys High School’s debate team marked their first fundraiser a success at RocoMamas in Springs Mall, raising funds for the National Debate League (NDL) Championships next year in Cape Town.
The boys rolled their sleeves for a shadow shift on November 25 and were accompanied by the school’s band.
The teacher and co-ordinator, Nabeelah Asmal, told the Springs Advertiser that the community supported the cause and expressed gratitude to everyone who came with enthusiasm and to RocoMama for their unwavering support.
She said that the success of the RocoMamas shadow-shift fundraiser showed just how much the community believes in the boys.
She also said that the team will be having another fundraiser on December 3 from 17:30 at the school.
“Tunes & Twilight is our way of bringing the community together for a night of music, energy, and purpose. We’re inviting everyone to come out, enjoy the vibe, and help us send our debating boys to the national championships,” said Asmal.
