Men’s club spreads warmth with soup drive for Mandela Month

Tsakani – In honour of Nelson Mandela Month, the Simunye Men’s Club, an NPO, has partnered with the Tsakani Ext 8 Simunye Clinic to celebrate Tata Madiba’s legacy by serving hot, fresh soup to patients at the clinic.
The NPO’s secretary, Billy Mathuthu, said they distributed soup to 200 people at the initiative on July 3 and 10.
“The initiative happens again on July 17 and will offer various health awareness programmes. The programme aims to assist the community, especially those in need,” Mathuthu said.
The NPO is committed to making a meaningful difference in the community.

“The organisation seeks to uplift and support patients at the clinic as they wait to consult, reaffirming the importance of active citizenship and kindness.
“We believe July is not only a time to reflect on the values of Mandela, but is also a call to action for South Africans to play a meaningful role in their communities,” he added.
Through this initiative, the organisation aims to build stronger partnerships by contributing positively to the well-being of people.
The initiative forms part of the club’s broader commitment to social responsibility and collaboration with local stakeholders.
